INK MONKEYS Steamroller Printmaking 11am to 2pm
The Ink Monkeys, a print collaborative made up of faculty, students and alumni at Massasoit Community College, have been in existence for four plus years. They are dedicated to making prints and educating the public at large about the history and many joys of printmaking. Like their ancestral name-sake, they are passionate about the search for perfect ink consistency, unusual paper and bizarre and eccentric images. Bring your family and join us for this hands on printmaking demonstration and learn about this exciting art form.

THE ROSSONIANS 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm
Rhode Island's own Mary Ann Rossoni has been carrying on the fine folk tradition of her own state for many years now. Born and raised in Johnston, and a Providence resident since her college days at RISD, Mary Ann began as a naïve upstart with plenty of ambition and is now, by all counts, a fastmaturing and creative artist with a unique sound and a lot on her mind.

Having made her national debut on the Wall Street Records label back in 2001, Mary Ann is an important voice on the national acoustic music scene. The Cleveland Free Times calls her a "distaff Bill Morrissey," due to her canny blend of storytelling and country blues folk. Mary Ann has toured the country singing from her heart, singing gloriously honest tales of life in New England with a pinch of humor, and drawing creative inspiration from the very surroundings that bewitch us all. We also agree with People magazine, which wrote, "Whoever is in charge of the folk resurgence has to make room for Rossoni." Indeed, Mary Ann's power is undeniable. She carves edgy, soul-deep images with herlyrics, powerful vocals, and punchy acoustic guitar, weaving a web of extraordinary stories about ordinary people.

She will be performing at the Arts Marketplace with her bandmates the Rossonians: Mary Ann Rossoni, lead vocals, guitar; Jack Gauthier, mandolin; Joe Potenza, bass; Paul Dube, accordion/harp; Dan Hann, drums; and Betsy Dake, backing vocals.ROJECT 401 HIP HOP/ BREAK DANCERS 1:00 - 2:00pm Project 401 is a collective of Hip Hop artists based in Rhode Island who use Hip Hop culture to engage with communities and relay positive social messages to youth. The group hosts free weekly dance sessions, perform for community events, coordinate Hip Hop youth programs with NGOs, and also organize community events that bring the positive art of Hip Hop to communities throughout Rhode Island and the greater New England area.

STAY TUNED DUO
The Stay Tuned Duo is the musical pairing of Bill Calhoun and Emily Lisker. Emily, who is also a painter and writer, is slightly lighter-than-air, and relies on heavy instruments, like the baritone sax and the accordion, to keep her on earth. Bill, who is also a schoolteacher and a piano tuner, has to keep his hands moving, either on the keys of a piano or the strings of a banjo. Together they weave an instrumental fabric that is upbeat and energetic, threaded with both melancholy and humor.

Their music is pure Americana, the whole melting pot that infiltrates everything they play, whether it's a traditional barrelhouse blues or a New Orleans spiritual or a country song one of their friends wrote yesterday. An important part of folk music is creative and heartfelt interpretation - the Stay Tuned Duo shapes its music with imagination and with affection for these traditions.

THE GRAY DIVAS 12noon to 4pm (3 one hour sets)
The Gray Divas will rock you with their eclectic mix of Tin Pan Alley, Oldie Goldies, Beatles, Hawaiian, folk sounds, and even some jazzy riffs. Hear their great vocal sounds and close harmonies, accompanied by guitar and ukulele.
