MORE DETAILS:
Corpse Caravan ( Adventures of the Traveling Corpses ) is a collection of collaborative works by artists from 5 local organizations, including : Flying Shuttles, Out of the Box Studio (Bridges,Inc.) , RHD-RI, Studio 57 (Looking Upwards, and Top Drawer (The Brass)
The Exquisite Corpses (see description below) were orginally created for an installation at the recent Jamestown Arts Center Exhibit, Bridging Patterns. The structures consist of separate heads, torsos, legs, hands and feet, created by all 5 organizations. Once all of the pieces were finished, the 5 groups collaboratively and creatively assembled the pieces to make up life size images resembling the human form.
Once the Bridging Patterns show ended, they were ready for another adventure.... so up to Providence they go, to dance in the gallery and windows of Inner Space, Share Space!
Out of the Box Studio & Gallery artists and myself will be demonstrating printmaking techniques and running an "Exquisite Corpse" printmaking workshop at the openining for anyone interested- inspired by works (also featured in show) created during an "Exquisite Corpse" workshop held at the Jamestown Arts Center last month.
